Mother's Day 2013

Ahhh...if only Mother's Day was every day. Wouldn't life be great? Mother's Day weekend this year was kind of crazy and insane so I told gently suggested to Adam that we should stretch it out over two weekends so I could be properly spoiled. :) The Saturday before Mother's Day was Kristen's shower so I was busy with that. But it kind of worked out nicely that all the wonderful ladies in my family got to spend the day together. And Adam's family always likes to get together on Mother's Day Sunday with his mom. Which I always enjoy, but I like to choose something I like to do also. So the weekend before we went to the zoo and had a great time. The end of the school year is always nuts and we dont get to spend much time together as a family. It was kind of rainy that day, but we didn't mind. We took umbrellas and enjoyed an almost empty zoo.

We caved and let Abi ride the carousel.
Which I think may literally pay for now each time we go to the zoo.
On actual Mother's Day, Adam's parents and Drew came up and went to church with us and we went out to a delicious lunch afterwards. These next pictures need a little background explanation...oh, Marianna. She raised four boys. Four. Which means she has spent the last 34 years of her life living with boys who teased her endlessly with no remorse. You would think they would give her a break on Mother's Day, but no. One of their favorite jokes is to purposefully take horrible pictures of her. Or when they are supposed to be smiling, they make stupid faces. Poor Marianna. And she always yells at them that "she needs good funeral pictures!" Yes, she is concerned that at her funeral there won't be any good pictures of her to display. Well, all she wanted was a good picture with her grandbabies and this was the result:

Yay! Finally, a good "funeral picture."

the only reason the boys are cooperating here is because we're in church

After lunch at Simmons Winery/450 North Brewing Company

I love Eli's photo bomb!! haha!
